Dari yang telah dikabarkan Koran South China Morning, Juru Bicara dari Kementerian Luar Negeri Italia, mengatakan kalau tidak ada warganya yang naik dalam pesawat tersebut. “Dia telah melaporkan kalau paspornya dicuri pada Agustus lalu,” katanya.
Hal sama yang diungkapkan oleh Martin Weiss, Juru Bicara Kementerian Luar Negeri Austria. Dia mengatakan kalau nama yang terdaftar di manifest sangat cocok dengan paspor seorang warga Austria yang dilaporkan dicuri pada dua tahun lalu di Thailand.
